Project CREST<\/strong> aims to transform UCCS by adapting practices from previous ADVANCE\u202fprojects to:\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. \u202fpositively impact women\u2019s research experiences and productivity\u202f <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. change the research policies and evaluation structures within the institution to more fully support women\u2019s research participation, and\u202f <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      1. vigilantly mitigate biases within UCCS research spaces and research processes.\u202fProject CREST focuses\u202fon systemic reform efforts that will change the landscape of UCCS today and for the next generation\u202fof scholars.\u202f\u202f <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        \n\n\n\n

        Specific Initiatives from Previous ADVANCE Projects<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Initiative 1<\/strong>:\u202fBuilding a responsive and inclusive research infrastructure.<\/strong>\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Based upon Montana State University\u2019s ADVANCE Project TRACS<\/a> we will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        1. Hire a Research Development Coordinator to help establish\u202fan inclusive research infrastructure  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          1. Offer \u201cmini grants\u201d for women faculty and those from other underrepresented backgrounds in STEM and SBS <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
              \n
            1. Host grant-writing bootcamps to provide dedicated time and instruction for creating successful grant submissions <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                \n
              1. Create and implement a targeted Research Facilitation Network to provide ongoing support and mentoring for campus researchers <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                Initiative 2:\u202fReshaping research policy, practices, and evaluation structures<\/strong>.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. Use the WVU Dialogues dual-agenda technique<\/a> to develop cohesion and inclusion among departments and\u202fco-create new annual review processes\u202fwith\u202feach unit <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                    \n
                  1. Reimagine\u202fpromotion and tenure documents in line with Seattle University\u2019s ADVANCE Project<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                      \n
                    1. Revisit all research policies with an intersectional lens to ensure that they benefit everyone – also from SU\u2019s ADVANCE <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                        \n
                      1. Establish enduring sense-making opportunities using Georgia Tech\u2019s\u202fADEPT<\/a>\u202fformat\u202fto\u202fcatalyze new habits, texts, and interactions that can help sustain and cultivate gender and racial equity  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
